Five-Year Bronyversary

July 20th, 2012

It feels like it was both eons ago, and only yesterday, but there is one thing that inextricably anchors that day, and all my days since, to the present: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It has been a constant, always there, always bringing me joy in the most unexpected of ways. It led me to a community unlike any other, a community of unparalleled camaraderie, skill, and participation... a community that inspired me to participate in return. I learned crafts I never would have tried otherwise, and used them to create things that brought some small happiness to my fellow fans. By the show's relentless positivity and the virtues it extolled, it even helped make me a better person.

Every single day of my life for the last five years has featured this show and its fandom in some manner, and I intend to keep it that way for a very long time to come. Now that I've graduated college and gotten a real job, I may not have as much free time as I used to, but I can't imagine life without MLP, and I will always be doing something pony-related.

Anyway, I've never been much of a writer, and since I somehow always end up writing journals and long descriptions at 3AM, the time of maximal sappiness and minimal coherence, I'll just say what I'm trying to say:
I love you all! I'm eternally grateful to this fandom, our magnificent show staff, and everyone else who helps make a world full of pastel ponies the sort of thing that can enthrall me for half a decade. No matter what the future holds, we are bronies for life!
